Description

N° 12 :Brique du perche et laiton, year 2021, unique piece, signed Pierre Tual.

They may be 40 cm high, but Pierre Tual calls them “very small” - normal for a sculptor who builds metal structures as tall as trees! But he also creates ceramics.

This unique sculpture by P. Tual boldly combines glazed ceramics and gilded brass. The work plays on the contrast between the raw, vibrant, textured material of ceramics - perforated and coated with a deep-reflecting enamel - and the elegant rigidity of polished metal. This contrast creates a strong visual and tactile dialogue, typical of the artist's contemporary approach.

Perfect for lovers of design art, this original piece is equally at home in a gallery or a modern interior. Its discreet signature and sculptural format make it a work of character, as contemplative as it is architectural. A creation that draws the eye, questions perceptions and sublimates materials in a resolutely contemporary artistic language.

Pierre Tual (b. 1941) began this work in 1995. Ten years earlier, a workshop organized by Anthony Caro in New York convinced him of the artistic interest of wood-fired clay. This interest was reinforced when he built kilns for his ceramist daughter Marie.
