Description

Porcelain bowl decorated with maple leaves and a spider, unique piece, signed Simone Perrotte.

All of Simone Perrotte's pieces are shaped and decorated by hand and fired in her workshop.

These are all unique works; their creation process is slow and meticulous, it takes several weeks to produce a set of pieces.

The porcelain paste is modeled (bowls), thrown (vases), or stamped by hand (dishes), depending on the shape, then dried for a minimum of one week.

The black decorations (fish, trees) are engraved on raw porcelain, then the piece is fired for the first time at 960°C

The colored engobes are then applied with a brush, and the piece is fired again at 700°C to fix the decoration.

Then a transparent satin glaze is applied by dipping and the piece is fired at 1280°C, this is the 'grand-feu'.

Finally, platinum and gold (yellow or rose) are painted and fired at a low temperature of 780°C.

Sometimes more cooking is done over a low flame, for example in the case of overlapping or certain juxtapositions.
