Large black glazed stoneware jar, wheel-thrown, unique piece signed Marc Uzan.
Marc Uzan was born in 1955. He discovered modeling at the age of 18 while working as a children's activity leader. He took his first steps at the Centre d'Arts plastiques in Aubervilliers. He opened his first studio in Paris in 1977 and in 1978, inspired by a collective studio project, he moved to live near Florence.
His meeting with Salvatore and Stefano Cipolla at the Florence Art Institute marked the beginning of his career. From 1979, he participated in the Faenza International Ceramics Competition.
His journey then led him to live, work and exhibit successively in France, Venezuela, Brazil and Switzerland. Since 1995, he has had his studio in the Sarthe region.
In each workshop he had to work with clays and raw materials in order to continue his production of unique pieces.
It is thanks to these experiences, the exchanges with his trainees as well as his initial training in physics, that he was able to develop methods for the search for enamels .
Her production consists of turned, modeled, stamped, rolled, and cast pieces… primarily glazed at high temperature. Her work is characterized by the richness of her glazes and the variety of her forms.
