Description

An enamelled ceramic stoneware box, unic piece , signed Jean Jacquinot.

Faithful to stoneware thrown on a foot wheel, fired in reduction mode using wood or gas, Jean Jacquinot eventually came to live near La Borne. A self-taught artist, "enriched by fruitful encounters," he experimented with various types of kilns, having long since chosen a style. He continues to create glazed tableware and decorative pieces, thrown or stamped, cut, and decorated, in an Art Nouveau style that draws inspiration from nature. The layered glazes, ranging from white to gray, beige to blackish-brown, make the pieces unique and recall the flamed stoneware of the early 20th century. A poet of the earth, Jean Jacquinot is also a poet through words, both spoken and written.
