Large baluster porcelain vase with polychrome enamel decor inspired by the Louvre pyramid. Stamp of the manufacture, signed Gilles Bouttaz and dated 1995.
From 1971 to 2002, Gilles Bouttaz was a porcelain decorator painter at the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres: he reached the rank of head of works of art there. In this capacity, on the one hand, he multiplied trompe-l'oeil (specialist in false wood backgrounds) and highlighted the crystallization decorations, on the other hand he was the active hand of many artists collaborating with the Manufacture de Sèvres, such as Pierre Alechinsky, François Imhoff, Raoul Marek, Adrian Saxe, Betty Woodman, etc. While pursuing a personal work, since 2002, Gilles Bouttaz has been a professor of ceramics at the Lycée des métiers d'art du Gué in Tresmes.
