Pansu vase by Eugene Lion, with two handles in brown and green glazed stoneware, signed under the base "Lion"
Potter in Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye and contemporary of Pointu, Lee and Perrot. Coming from a real dynasty of potters, he is the main representative of it. HE interprets and benefits from the contribution of the School of Carriès and creates art ceramics combining Asian inspiration and local tradition, daring strong contrasts. HE is fond of thick, bellied forms, which he covers with thick enamels. He collaborated with William Lee, Paul Jeanneney, or Father Pacton. Also a master in the art of turning, he creates some original and personal shapes.
