Raku sculpture entitled "silhouette", dated 2015, unique piece, monogrammed GBG.
Gisèle Buthod - Garçon has been building a ceramic work for 30 years, each step of which bears the germ of a subsequent discovery, in a movement ranging from the container to the sculpture. The diversity of successive advances does not prevent the coherence of a writing with an always identifiable common thread: a palette of subtle grays, from the milkiest to the darkest, where sometimes yellow, green or pink merge, dresses and reveals shapes marked by the presence of the body, in a chord serving the initial intention.
In love with enamel, but nourished at the source of the early arts, Gisèle Buthod-Garçon creates pieces of sensual refinement even on raw surfaces.
His last work, presented at the Museum La Piscine de Roubaix in 2014 is the expression of a demanding sensitivity that combines here in an accomplished way its qualities of presence, freedom and balance.
