Biscuit sculpture - set of 4 seasons - representing winter, signed Anie Mouroux (1887 - 1978) stamp of Sèvres dated 1934.
Annie Mouroux gave sculpture models to the Manufacture de Sèvres from 1925 to 1935.
A student at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris, she was the first female student to enter the Grand Prix de Rome medal engraving competition. Second second grand Prix of Rome of engraving in 1919, she was for a long time the only woman rewarded with this title. She exhibited at the Salon of the Society of French Artists from 1908. Until 1923, the artist exhibited only medals, a medium that brought him great fame. His collaboration with the Henriot Manufacture was made around the 1930s, through Mr. Le Goaziou, a bookseller in Quimper and friend of Anie Mouroux. Indeed, she was looking to publish her famous "Sainte Anne, grandmother of the Bretons" (great statuary representing St. Anne and the virgin child with at their feet, five kneeling couples symbolizing the five Breton bishoprics of the time) and it is therefore quite naturally that she was directed to the Quimper manufacture. Subsequently, Anie Mouroux will make some other models for Henriot. In 1937, she won a gold medal as part of her collaboration with the Henriot Manufacture for the exhibition of Arts and Techniques. She also worked for the Manufacture de Sèvres. In parallel with her career as an artist, she will also be curator of the Municipal Museum of Casablanca and professor at the school of fine arts of the same city. She will also be in charge of missions in Washington, Madrid and Belgrade.
